This spring students are showcasing what they’ve learned, demonstrating a deep curiosity in all things scientific and creative.

Students at  participated in a Math contest sponsored by the University of Waterloo, while students at  grew plants on a tower to understand more about what plants need to thrive. The was an incredible success, showcasing over 80 projects to judges, students and the community, with projects qualifying for the West Kootenay Regional Science Fair in Grand Forks on April 17th. 

The Skills Canada Regional Competition took place at Selkirk College this spring, with incredible work ethic and technical abilities in the digital arts shown by students from Mount Sentinel Secondary, L.V.Rogers Secondary and Crawford Bay Elementary-Secondary. Six regional gold medalists from SD8 will represent the Kootenays at the  at the Abbotsford Trade and Exhibition Centre on April 15. The next generation of digital creators has arrived. 

In this issue of the report, you’ll also see an abundance of Indigenous Education offered to all students whether it’s learning the Ktunaxa language at  during , or making drums at .
